Happy 5 th Birthday …

Thanks to my friend Pamir Harvey whose similar activity for his blog inspired me that I should also take care of my own blog, while I do other activity and contributions to other blogs.

So here is wishing my dear blog ‘SAMAJ SHILPI’ (‘the Social Architect’) a very very HAPPY BIRTHDAY today.

It was through a conscious thought process that the date ‘5 th June’ was selected to launch this lovely creative blog.
As today 5 th also happens to be the ‘World Environment day’ every year.

To bring ‘environmental awareness’ is one of the core objective of this blog.

On this occasion today I wish to thank my founding members’ friends Ashish Tilak, Bharat Bhatt and my younger daughter Ashwini for their constant support and encouragement to me.
While Ashwini has also been the major contributor for her posts since she was studying in Std VII th, and to some extent could not devote much time due to her board exams since last year. (Though in between she contribute some posts)
As her exams are over I hope her posts would be coming regularly now.

Back to ‘Samajshilpi’,
He will continue to fight for the ‘right’ and to bring ‘positive change’ in the society.

Many things happen regularly around us that shake up our conscience and the current socio-political scenario had posed many serious threats for all the human beings who love peace and believe in ‘live and let live’. Crime against women and children are continuing as if there is no fear of ‘law’ for those who commit these crimes and carry on anti social activities. Corruption has damaged the total social fabric and everything seems to be ‘fixed’ in favor of the ‘wrong’.

“We continue to tolerate the ‘wrong’ at the cost of the ‘right’, (that is what my favorite writer/poet Gulzar saab express recently speaking on the occasion of the release of the 3 rd edition of his ‘dyodhi’. )

Samajshilpi, is closely watching them all, observing them & feeling them all. He do feel ‘sad’ and ‘helpless’ at times, but then the hope for the ‘positive change’ keeps him ‘optimistic’ and motivates to carry his role further ….

Wishing all readers and well wishers of this blog very happy ‘Environment day’ today, I leave all of your with the following thought provoking ‘tweet’ shared recently by my another good friend Raja Swaminathan –

“The day people respect facts more than opinion, we will become a more objective society, and the media could help by leading”

VASUNDHARA

Let me first tell you all a story which is going to become a ‘real story’ in the future if we do not save our planet- our ‘earth’.

Once there was a girl child. Her name was ‘Vasundhara’. She had no friends but had found her friends in the Trees, Birds, flowers, water, river, sand, air, the sun, and the moon, the atmosphere, the nature –the environment.

Vasundhara daily used to play with her friends; she talked with them and was very happy with them. She never demanded for any of the things from her friends. She only wanted that they all remain with her and be her friends for ever. She could not imagine living without these friends.

One day she found some of her friends missing. The birds and the animals started leaving the place. Vasundhara felt very sad but could not do anything but cry and cry. As the time passed she felt change in behavior of her closest friends that is the Sun. The Sun was getting very hot day by day and it was becoming difficult for other friends of Vasundhara to survive. The ‘Seasons’, Vasundhara’s other best friends started to behave in abnormal way and Vasundhara was very sad and could not find the reason for this. Day by day and year by year passed and all of Vasundhara’s friends left her alone. Helpless Vasundhara could not bear the loneliness and was very sad and one day Vasundhara left forever, she died!!!!
Dear friends, Vasundhara is none other than our ‘Earth’- Our planet – Our future –Our Earth. If we do not care for her seriously we will have to lose her and then we will be losing ourselves also. We shall be no more.

We all see that our Earth is going into danger day by day. Then why we only see and do nothing about it? We should take at least small steps to preserve our environment and save it from pollution. Every citizen of the world –poor or rich, big or small, young or old has to do something for the sake of our earth. Our contribution for earth will not be only for earth but it would be also for the peoples residing in it.

The story which I told you about ‘Vasundhara’ was an imagination of mine and it ended with the death of ‘Vasundhara’, but the big question remains and that is what makes Vasundhara’s friends to leave her? They also wanted to live in harmony with Vasundhara. But the greedy and selfish human being in us forced Vasundhara’s friends to leave her. We do it knowingly or unknowingly, but we do it! We are careless enough, so much, that we do not bother about our own surroundings and destroying our own existence- Our own future. If immediately measures are not taken to save the Earth the story I imagined could soon be a reality.

But this should not happen. Friends, our earth is still requesting us. Let us save our earth, let us save it from being destroyed. Let us join and make our Earth safe and clean and green and pure as the God imagined. Let us save our future – Our planet-Our Earth- Our own – ‘Vasundhara’.
